Boss is jailed for egg fury chef assault
A RESTAURANT boss has been jailed for two years for hurling scalding water at a chef for a mistake when boiling an egg.
Djamel Benrejdal flung the contents of the pan over Chouaib Boussera who screamed in agony.
Benrejdal, 49, refused to let the cook go to A&E and put odd “remedies” made from takeaway leftovers on the man’s wounded arm, York crown court heard.
Judge Andrew Stubbs QC said Mr Boussera, 30, suffered “awful, longlasting” scars in the attack at the pizza parlour in Scarborough, North Yorks.
Benrejdal, of nearby Scalby, tampered with CCTV film of the assault to try to evade justice but was found guilty of grievous bodily harm. He has given up the business.
