THE mother of the youngest victim of the London Bridge terror attack heard how her daughter died of a stab wound to the neck.

Eight people died on June 3, when three terrorists ran into pedestrians with a van before stabbing people with 12-inch ceramic knives.

Julie Wallace, the mother of Sara Zelenak, 21, was at Southwark coroner’s court with her husband Mark for the opening of the inquest.

Sara, a nanny from Brisbane, Australia, was found in Borough High Street, and identified by dental records and DNA. Coroner Andrew Harris told the family: “All of our thoughts and condolences are with you.”

Details of how victims died, where they were found and how they were identified were read out in court.

James McMullan, 32, of Brent, North West London, and chef Sebastien Belanger, 36, from Angers, France, were stabbed in the chest.

Nurse Kirsty Boden, 28, of Loxton, Australia, ran towards the danger to help others. She was found near Southwark Cathedral, with a stab wound to her chest. HSBC analyst Ignacio Echeverria, 39, from As Pontes, Spain, was knifed in the back defending a woman with his skateboard. Attackers Khuram Butt, 27, Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22, were shot dead by police. The inquest was suspended while the police probe continues. A hearing will take place today into the deaths of Canadian Christine Archibald, 30, and Frenchmen Xavier Thomas, 45, and Alexandre Pigeard, 26.
