1.5m say: We just love Love Island

Antics from Love Island – with several couples having sex – are continuing to delight viewers.

Tuesday’s fighting and fumbles gave it its biggest ever audience of 1.52million, beating BBC2, Channel 4 and almost double the 819,000 viewers Big Brother got on Channel 5.

Explaining the ITV2 show’s success over BB, voice-over Iain Stirling, left, said: “What do you want to watch – people in the a***-end of England in a little house or just beautiful people with six packs running around a luxury, multi-million pound villa?” Iain has a new ITV2 show CelebAbility starting tonight as well as a month-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. It’s clearly all Stirling work.
