RUSH FOR PICKFORD DEAL

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

JORDAN PICKFORD is set to tie up his £30million move to Everton before the Under-21 Euros begin.

Club medics flew to the England base in Poland to check the keeper, so the deal can be pushed through on the eve of tomorrow’s game against Sweden.

Although his transfer from Sunderland cannot be completed until the transfer window opens on July 1, Pickford is thought to have already agreed personal terms as he becomes the most expensive English keeper ever.

Goodison legend Neville Southall believes the 23-year-old will prove good value. “If we sign Pickford we have a bargain. What price saving 12 points a season. Potential to go all the way to world level,” he tweeted.

He is the first signing of a hectic summer for Everton, with boss Ronald Koeman set to spend big to build a squad capable of making the top four.
