Brave Dom and pals give it the Full Monty

-

Ihad nothing but admiration for Wayne Sleep, Alexander Armstrong and Dominic Littlewood last night. I don’t know how – as men of a certain age and physique – they had the balls to even contemplate taking part in ITV’s The Real Full Monty, never mind to actually go ahead with it. So fair play to them for risking ridicule in the pursuit of raising awareness about prostate cancer. Not least Dominic, who faced the added danger of jokers wondering HATTA BOY Dominic Littlewood whether his surname was an unfortunate case of nominative determinism.

Also, whenever he mentions Cowboy Builders in future people might wonder whether he is talking about a TV show or merely listing his available stripping outfits.

Of course, it shouldn’t really have SQUARE BASHING Karen lashes out at Sharon tonight mattered what physical shape they were in, as it was just a bit of fun in aid of a good cause.

However, they can’t have failed to notice the comparative buffness of their five fellow celebrity strippers – Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden, McFly’s Harry Judd, Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, Red Dwarf’s Danny John Jules and TOWIE’s Elliott Wright.

The ultimate test was the same for all eight of them though. To go naked for the movie’s classic You Can Leave Your Hat On routine in front of a packed crowd at the London Palladium.

No wonder their choreographer, Diversity’s Ashley Banjo, was concerned that they’d be “too busy focusing on the end point” to learn the routine. Possibly, Ash. But I bet they weren’t focusing on it half as much as the ladies were.
