YOUR SHOUT
Fiona, well done to The Mirror for exposing the DUP sectarian bigots who’re still living in the 17th century. People might now realise what the nationalist people in the north have had to put up with for years – being treated as second-class citizens in their own country, suffering years of discrimination by these so-called loyalist/unionist demagogues. St Theresa should be ashamed of herself for getting into bed with these wicked people. Joe Fitzgerald, Liverpool FP: And we voters have no say in it whatsoever, Joe, especially those of us who didn’t vote for the Tories. I don’t want anything to do with the DUP’s homophobic climate-change deniers with their restrictive views on abortion, let alone having them co-govern the UK.
Fiona, you claimed that taxi drivers who use satnavs are not professional drivers. I can’t recall the last time I caught a taxi that didn’t use a satnav in Tamworth/Birmingham. Rob Wildey, Tamworth FP: Aha! But you’d never catch a London black cab driver using satnav, Rob. They already have The Knowledge!
Fiona, if only someone like Richard Branson would take on care homes as a project. I’m sure someone like him could completely transform this sad, tired old industry. Jackie, via e-mail FP: It’s a hard money-pit of a call for anyone, Jackie. Last year dozens of care homes closed with less than three months’ notice, some with as little as nine days’ notice. That’s why we need a national care service, paid for by a form of national insurance.
