THIS is the line-up of music fans’ favourite fantasy supergroup, a poll has found.

Adele was top choice for lead singer, with Queen’s Brian May on guitar, Phil Collins on drums and Paul McCartney on bass.

The 2,000 people surveyed told Adele, 29, we want Someone Like You, ahead of legends Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. Brian May, 69, will be singing We Are The Champions after pipping Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.

When it came to a bass player, the poll sent Paul McCartney, 74, a message that we love you, yeah, yeah, yeah, as he even came ahead of the late great John Entwistle of the Who.

And Against All Odds, former Genesis star Phil Collins, 66, who played the iconic In The Air Tonight drum riff, beat Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham. The poll to find the perfect four-piece was carried out by Greene King as part of its Live at Your Local contest to find new musical talent.

Sue Thomas-Taylor, of Greene King Locals, said: “We were interested to see old school legends such as Paul McCartney and Phil Collins have appeal to a modern audience.”
