Booze plea of Spanish cops
POLICE in Majorca and Ibiza have called on travel chiefs to curb the sale of alcohol after a string of drunken fights involving British tourists.
Jose Maria Manso, boss of the Professional Police Union in the Balearic Islands, accused airlines and airport authorities of putting profit before safety.
In an open letter, he questioned why “an airport binge with a serious knockon effect for everyone’s safety” was allowed, while smoking was banned.
