Macron roars to poll victory
PRESIDENT Emmanuel Macron has won a landslide in French parliamentary elections, increasing his clout in Brexit talks.
The 39-year-old ’s new Republic En Marche party and its coalition partner MoDem is expected to gain 425 seats out of 577, early projections suggest.
Mr Macron is against a “soft Brexit” compromise on freedom of movement.
Marine Le Pen’s FN party is expected to win fewer than 10 seats.
