Here’s the Master and his regeneration Missy together for the first time, in an eye-catching image for the Doctor Who series finale.

The pair (John Simm and Michelle Gomez) flank the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) in a chilling spin on the poster that accompanied the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor.

Simm returns for the first time since New Year’s Day 2010, when he was responsible for the regeneration of the 10th Doctor (David Tennant).

The Master comes faceto-face with Missy and battles the Doctor in a two-parter on Saturday and a week later, in an extended 60-minute episode.

Aisling Bea, Bob Mortimer, Mark Watson, Nish Kumar and Sally Phillips will compete to be crowned Taskmaster champion in series five later this year. Taskmaster started out as a live show, devised by comic Alex Horne, which ran at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010 and 2011. This year it was commissioned for a series by Comedy Central in the USA.
