Springwatch’s Michaela Strachan says Bake Off is not one of the shows she misses when at home in South Africa. She says: “I don’t like baking, for a start. I find it all messy. Also you can’t open a newspaper without an article about the negativity of sugar and yet here’s a programme celebrating making a gateaux that’s a foot high.”
