DE GEA + £175M = RONALDO
United preparing a record bid to bring unsettled Madrid superstar ‘home’
MANCHESTER United are set to go all out to land Cristiano Ronaldo in a staggering £175m deal – plus David De Gea.
The Reds are ready to make keeper De Gea part of a world-record package to bring superstar Ronaldo back to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.
Ronaldo, 32, has sparked a crisis at Real by insisting he wants to quit Spain after being accused of a £13m tax fraud.
Bernabeu president Florentino Perez will go public on the issue today, while boss Zinedine Zidane has already called Ronaldo on holiday to
make it clear that he wants him to stay.
Although he has interest from China, the Portugal forward – who joined Real from United in 2009 – wants to remain in Europe and Paris Saint-Germain could also make a bid.
Ronaldo scored 42 goals for Real last season, shooting them to the Spanish title and a third Champions League triumph in four seasons.
United also want to sign Spain striker Alvaro Morata from Real, but it is believed that manager Jose Mourinho will pursue him separately.
