STAR Wars legend Carrie Fisher had cocaine, heroin and ecstasy in her system when she fell ill on a plane four days before her death.

Traces of the drugs were found in samples taken when the star arrived at an LA hospital in December, a toxicology report has revealed.

The 60-year-old actress had taken the cocaine in the previous 72 hours.

The dose and time of her “exposure to heroin” could not be pinpointed, and she had a “remote exposure to MDMA”, also known as ecstasy.

The coroner ruled that the actress died from sleep apnoea and a combi- nation of other factors. The report said Fisher had suffered from atherosclerotic heart disease and “drug use”.

But it added: “We cannot establish the significance of the multiple substances detected in Ms Fisher’s blood and tissue, with regard to the cause of death.

“The manner of death has been ruled undetermined.”

Fisher’s only child Billie Lourd, 24, said her mother had “battled drug addiction and mental illness her entire life”.

The actress told People Magazine: “She ultimately died of it. She was purposefully open in all of her work about the social stigmas surrounding these diseases. “She talked about the shame that torments people and their families confronted by these diseases.” Billie said her mum would want her death to help others be “open about their struggles” and seek help. She added: “Shame and those social stigmas are the enemies of progress to solutions and ultimately a cure.”
