I got bikes, cars, books, paintings and some semblance of a soul left JOHNNY DEPP IN EMAIL TO HIS FORMER MANAGERS

JOHNNY Depp told managers he must keep a private jet – despite promising to cut spending and rescue his finances.

The actor declared he could only take private flights because commercial trips with paparazzi aboard would be a “nightmare of monumental proportions”.

Depp is suing for £20million damages from The Management Group, which handled his affairs for 17 years.

TMG is fighting the claim and wants compensation from Depp, claiming staff had repeatedly warned him about his excessive spending.

Now the firm has given a Los Angeles court emails and records of phone calls to “overwhelmingly establish” that the Hollywood star was aware of his perilous financial position.

Apparently in reply to a suggestion he sell possessions, Depp insisted he needed a private jet but wrote: “I got bikes, cars, property, books, paintings and some semblance of a soul left. Where would you like me to start?”

In one October 2009 call, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s sister and personal manager Christi Dembrowski is said to have told TMG co-owner Joel Mandel of Depp’s co-operation. In a record of the call, Mr Mandel wrote: “She stated she had spoken with her brother, and that he stated he was well aware of his financial situation, and he understood that he needs to ‘work his ass off ’ to make the money that he needs to support his life.” In an email, Depp told Mr Mandel: “I am doing my very best on holiday spending, but there is only so much I can do, as I need to give my kiddies and famille [sic] as good a Christmas as possible.” The star then told of £59million earnings from movies in 2010 and added: “I hope that the amount that will be coming in from work in the coming year, and also from back end proceeds, will put everything straight.” As the court case continues in the US, Depp has flown to Tokyo. He met Japanese fans and posed for pictures at the airport and later attended the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
