Heat stroke hits Glasto revellers
STEWARDS used a paddling pool to cool off as dozens were hit by heat stroke at Glastonbury yesterday.
Firefighters came to the rescue of other festival-goers by spraying them with water from fire hoses. Revellers swapped their traditional wellies for swimsuits and shorts in the 34C sun.
By 2pm, medical staff had treated 38 people for the effects of heat at the Somerset event. In the past, the festival has often been plagued by downpours and thick mud, with many of the camping fields turned into quagmires.
More than 175,000 music fans are expected to attend the five-day event with Ed Sheeran, Radiohead and Foo Fighters headlining on three nights.
