It’s grindcore for Miliband the Ed banger
FORMER Labour leader Ed Miliband tried belting out some death metal on Radio 2, warning listeners: “I’m going to take my career in my hands.”
The MP, standing in for Jeremy Vine, was talking about the merits of grindcore with Napalm Death singer Barney Greenway.
The genre, built on screeching guitars and fast, crashing drums is to get its own stage at Glastonbury this year for the first time.
Greenway, whose albums have included The Code Is Red and Fear, Emptiness, Despair, said Mr Miliband’s singing “definitely needs more throat”.
The singer was on the show to explain how grindcore is not just “a bunch of noise”. But he admitted: “We sort of welcome people’s revulsion.”
