GB women’s medal hope

-

BRITAIN’S women’s 400m relay stars could be awarded bronze medals for the 2008 Olympics after the Russian team were stripped of their silver medals.

The GB women’s quartet – Christine Ohuruogu, Kelly Sotherton, Marilyn Okoro and Nicola Sanders – finished fifth in Beijing.

But they are now third as a result of the disqualification of third-placed Russia and fourth-placed Belarus due to failed drug tests.

GB men’s 4x400m team have already been awarded bronze from Beijing after the IOC stripped Russia of their medals.
