ENGLAND manager Terry Venables sent out a message that his team would triumph for the fans ahead of their Euro 96 clash with Spain.

Venables called on the Wembley crowd to lift his side. The quarterfinal clash ended goalless but the hosts went through after winning 4-2 on penalties. England lost on spot-kicks in the semi-final to eventual winners Germany.
