Cas face fired-up Rhinos

- BY GARETH WALKER Rugby Lge Correspondent

BRIAN McDERMOTT has warned Castleford not to dwell on their Challenge Cup exit at Hull – because his Rhinos side are preparing a stampede.

The Leeds coach (above) said: “We’re going into battle. They’re a good side, they’re six points ahead of us and we want to get the League Leaders’ Shield.

“We’re having a crack and we’ll show up.

“I know they’ll be disappointed about being out of the cup, but I think they need to be more worried about us.” P W D L F A Pts Castleford 18 15 0 3 627 282 30 Salford 18 12 0 6 478 342 24 Leeds 18 12 0 6 457 367 24 Hull 18 11 1 6 446 402 23 Wakefield 18 11 0 7 452 380 22 St Helens 18 8 1 9 360 316 17 Huddersf’d 18 7 2 9 404 413 16 Wigan 18 7 2 9 416 461 16 Catalans 18 6 1 11 351 519 13 Warrington 18 5 2 11 298 489 12 Widnes 19 5 1 13 333 502 11 Leigh 19 5 0 14 350 499 10 ST HELENS boss Justin Holbrook believes his side’s tough run-in to the regular season could work in their favour.

Saints play four of the top five teams in the coming weeks, starting with second-placed Salford.

Holbrook (left) said: “Everyone looks forward to playing in the harder games and these games are all in a row for us now.

“I think that is a good thing. It tests where you are at and if you’re good enough you will beat them, and if not, you won’t.

“It will be good for us and we are looking forward to it.”
