That’s skirting the issue, lads
THESE boys have clearly reacted with frock to their school’s ban on wearing shorts in the heatwave.
More than 50 pupils from Years 7 to 11 wore skirts instead of long trousers in protest after their parents slammed the “inflexible” uniform policy.
Josh Baxter said: “I was told to take it off because I had hairy legs.” Aimee Mitchel, head at ISCA College in Exeter, Devon, previously said she might update rules.
But the protest came as thunderstorms ended the record-breaking heatwave.
Cooler weather is expected until at least Sunday before the sun returns.
Meanwhile, Michael Wood, 46, a porter at Watford General Hospital, was suspended for rolling up his trousers on the hottest day of the year on Wednesday.
