PETER KAY’S COMEDY SHUFFLE

-

BBC1, 9pm Peter Kay has been in the biz for so long he can sit back and relax while we enjoy this ‘greatest hits’ series.

And with 20 years of stand-up, TV shows, sketches and talk show appearances, there is plenty to trawl.

From a younger Kay doing brilliantly observed stand-up, right through to his recent success in sitcom Car Share, who else can make you laugh with a mere eye roll? There’s a clip from the time his alter-ego Geraldine McQueen appeared on Loose Women, as well as his anecdote about being a cinema usher, which he told to Jonathan Ross.

Enjoy a reminder of that marvellous black bin bag song (“Just rip with me and tear with me right now”) from Phoenix Nights. And watch out for some glorious outtakes of Kay and long-time comedy buddy Paddy McGuinness kicking a cow in the road in Max And Paddy’s Road To Nowhere.

Can you believe he’s still only 43?
