Poldark star rides off into sunset
Seamus the horse to retire from show
WITH his rippling muscles and dark good looks, he is one of the biggest stars of BBC1’s Poldark.
But Seamus the horse will not be galloping through the Cornish surf with actor Aidan Turner for much longer.
Turner, 34, admits the trusty steed is close to drawing his horsey pension.
He said: “There is talk of my on-screen horse Seamus needing to retire as he is 17 now. I love Seamus, he’s a real star and I have a huge attachment to him, but if he needs to retire…”
Sixteen-hand Seamus comes from a Mark Atkinson’s horse agency in East Yorkshire. His replacement is likely to be “Jonny Wilkinson”, who currently works as Seamus’s stunt double.
