I’LL STILL BE FIRING IN MY 40S

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

JAMIE MURRAY reckons he could still be playing in his 40s.

Andy Murray, at 30 one year younger than his brother, said last week he might have only “a couple of years” left at the top.

But Jamie, who won his first two Grand Slam titles last year and got to doubles world No.1, said: “How long you keep playing depends on how you are feeling and your ranking.

“If I am still playing at the top of the game when I am 37, why would I stop?”

Canadian star Daniel Nestor is 44 and still ranked No.20 in the world for doubles. “His longevity is incredible,” said Jamie. “I could still be playing in a decade.”

Murray and partner Bruno Soares meet Marin Cilic and Marcin Matkowski in the semi-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen’s today.
