LET’S GO FOR IDAHO

NEWSBOY’S 1-2-3 1 IDAHO 2 DARTMOUTH 3 ACROSS THE STARS

-

IDAHO rates the value bet against the Queen’s defending champion Dartmouth.

His Classic campaign in 2016 showed Aidan O’Brien’s colt to be one of the best middle-distance performers in Europe – he ran third to Harzand in the Derby before running the Aga Khan’s star to half a length in the Irish version at the Curragh.

Having won the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, Idaho stumbled and unseated Seamie Heffernan three furlongs out when 4-6 favourite for the St Leger.

Things didn’t work out for Idaho when fifth in the Canadian International at Woodbine last October, or when sixth in Epsom’s Coronation Cup on his return to action 22 days ago.

But the O’Brien runners suffered travel disruption en route to Epsom and Idaho can bounce back. Dartmouth,

a reappearance scorer at York last month, looks sure to go well, Across The while stablemate Stars

is also in the mix.
