Crisis risks ‘another Mid Staffs’

-

THE nurse staffing crisis has left the NHS on the brink of another Mid Staffs scandal, the profession has warned.

Janet Davies of the Royal College of Nursing said: “It’s what happened in Mid Staffs. There had been nurses saying staffing levels were too low… They’re risking it again.”

She said the RCN’s national day of action tomorrow is a “final warning” to ministers.

She told of a “shockwave” after Theresa May, on BBC1’s Question Time, told a nurse worried about low pay that there is “no magic money tree”. Ms Davies called it “insulting”.
