THERE is a huge difference in the practical driving test pass rate across Britain.

The lowest was 40% in the West Midlands, then 41% in London. The highest was 70% in the Orkneys and 69% in Shetland.

Car finance firm Moneybarn found the overall DVLA pass rate for 2016 is 48%, up from 44% in 2008.

The top five trickiest also include Bedfordshi­re, Glasgow and Merseyside.

The other easiest were Powys, Scottish Borders and Northumber­land.
