Mother sues over son’s disabilities

-

A MUM is suing Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust for allegedly leaving her son disabled after a blunder.

Reverend Charlotte Cheshire claims medics failed to give her boy Adam antibiotics for seven hours when he showed signs of Group B Strep infection after birth. She said: “His life is shaped by permanent severe disability and it didn’t have to be this way.”

Adam was born at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in March 2011. Now six, he is autistic, developmentally delayed and has impaired sight and hearing.

Rev Cheshire, 39, of Shifnal, Shrops, said: “Adam has cost the NHS a great deal and will do so for the rest of his life.”

The trust said it could not comment on individual cases. FIGHT Charlotte
