Bank job for Giroud

- BY JOHN CROSS

WEST HAM are ready to break the bank to sign Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal are likely to offload the France striker as they look to complete a £50million deal for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette.

Hammers are willing to pay £20m plus a staggering £130,000 a week for Giroud, the biggest deal in the club’s history.

Giroud, 30 in September, signed a new three-year Emirates deal in January on £120,000 a week but West Ham are ready to beat that salary – and give him an extra year – to lure him across London.

Lyon have admitted they are interested in Giroud while Marseille have also been linked.

But it is unlikely either could match West Ham’s offer and now Giroud, still a first choice for France, has a big decision to make on his future. Arsenal won’t consider a deal until they sign reinforcements – and Giroud has stayed and fought for his place in the past.
