DAVE MACKAY. a true football legend of the modern era, died on March 2, 2015. He was 80.

The Scotland international moved south from Hearts to become the heartbeat of the Tottenham Doublewinning team.

Though tough as teak, Mackay was also a skilful midfielder who, in his later years at Derby, switched to a centraldefensive role.

He was a key man in the team Brian Clough built at the Baseball Ground that became champions. He succeeded Clough as County manager and led them to the title in 1975.

ROBIN WILLIAMS was found dead on August 11, 2014. The Hollywood superstar had struggled to overcome problems with depression and drug addiction. He was 63. Williams (below) won the 1997 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor as psychology professor Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting.

YET another X Factor winner followed up winning the talent show by seeing his charity single reach top spot for Christmas.

This time it was Ben Haenow. WATFORD have been offered the chance to sign Liverpool flop Lazar Markovic.

Markovic is available for £12million with the Reds ready to take a hit on the 23-year-old Serbian winger.

Hornets boss Marco Silva took Markovic to Hull on loan last season and is keen to strike a similar deal.

But Liverpool want to ditch Markovic for good.

He has made just 11 starts since joining from Benfica for £20m three years ago.

Watford face competition from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg while Turkish outfit Galatasaray have declared an interest.

Silva is eyeing at least four more reinforcements to follow England Under-21 midfielder Will Hughes’ £7m arrival from Derby.

Watford have bids tabled for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio and Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.

Silva is also confident of sealing a reunion with Hull winger Kamil Grosicki.
