JOBS FOR THE BOYS

FA embarrassed by FIFA corruption probe

- BY JOHN CROSS

FA CHIEFS broke strict World Cup bidding rules to get the “adopted son” of crooked FIFA boss Jack Warner (far right) a job at Aston Villa. The incredible inducement

was revealed yesterday when FIFA published their full report into alleged corruption around the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids.

England’s 2018 bid team were chasing then CONCACAF boss Warner’s vote and got his banker’s son Richard Sebro a placement at Tottenham, Wembley Stadium and then a job at Villa.

It came even though Sebro admitted in an email that his friends were “chasing extra shifts in McDonald’s in Wolverhampton” while he got the chance of a lifetime at a big club.

Jane Bateman, who was part of the bid team, promised the job ahead of the World Cup vote in December 2010. That is strictly against FIFA rules.
