The Prince of tributes
PRINCE Charles has bid a final farewell to his godmother, Countess Mountbatten of Burma.
He yesterday gave a private address at the funeral service for Lord Mountbatten’s daughter.
Charles was joined by the Queen and Prince Philip. Greeting them at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, West London, he tenderly kissed his mum’s hand, and his dad’s cheek.
He has described the Countess, born Patricia Knatchbull, as a “very special godmother”.
The Queen was bridesmaid for her.
She died at home in Mersham, Kent, aged 93, earlier this month.
