LONG LIVE EVERYBODY

l am weary of this so-called “intergenerational conflict” theory, whereby older people are being blamed for taking resources from the young.

Surely the fact that people are living longer and have more active lives is a cause for rejoicing? Who wants to go back to the dreadful loss of life and the failed potential of the young men who never returned from the First and Second World Wars?

Of course, planning for a good old age is still something fairly new but thanks to medical science many of us can look forward to an active life 70-plus.
