Vauxhall’s new Insignia Sports Tourer has just gone on sale with prices starting at £18,685. It’s based on a completely new platform first used by the Insignia Gran Sport.

The estate version of the Insignia is up to 200kg lighter than the outgoing model, has a boot that holds 1,665 litres and that boot has grown from 1997mm to 2005mm in length.

The range of engines used in the Insignia saloon are available, with power outputs of 110bhp to 260bhp and manual and automatic transmissions. There is also the option of a new four-wheel drive system.
