Electricals giant Dixons Carphone has dismissed talk of a consumer spending slowdown as full-year profits jumped 10% to a record £501million. The Currys and PC World owner said the high street was “holding up”, as sales rose 4% in the UK and Ireland.
Brits’ app-etite for mobile banking shot up 57% last year as more people used apps to manage their money. Figures from the British Bankers’ Association show more than 19.6million people used banking apps to make 932million transactions, that’s 30 per second.
