New figures from the Office for National Statistics show that divorce rates in the UK are continuing to decline.

Divorce between opposite sex couples declined by 9.1% compared with 2014, while there were only 22 divorces among same sex couples in 2015.

The divorce rate was highest among couples aged 40-44, which relationship charity Relate believes is a challenging time for couples who may be juggling full-time work with looking after young children, as well as elderly parents.
