More glazy antics as Ed joins Spanish gold rush

Sitcom White Gold – think The Inbetweeners working in double glazing if you haven’t watched it yet - is getting a second series. The Essex-set comedy has been recommissioned by BBC2, with the next series due to air in 2018. In the hit show former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, left, plays Vincent Swan, a foul-mouthed, Thatcher-era double glazing salesman, with The Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas as his sidekicks. All three will be back when it returns – with their bid for success taking them to Spain.

Shane Allen, BBC controller of comedy commissioning, said: “The reaction to the first series has been terrific, with an enormous audience boost from the iPlayer box set release. In series two, the swindles spread abroad to cover the Spanish timeshare apartment gold rush.

“Expect to see Ed Westwick in some tight swimming trunks.”

White Gold was the channel’s biggest comedy launch of the year. So it’s no surprise to us Shane saw a “window” of opportunity for second run!
