ABORTIONS FOR ULSTER
A smart, important amendment to the Queen’s Speech by Labour’s Stella Creasy MP yesterday saw the UK government forced to agree to offer NHS abortions to Northern Irish women.
If they had not done so, Theresa May would have lost a vital vote on the Queen’s Speech.
The Tory panic showed just how vulnerable its weak ‘coalition of chaos’ with the DUP really is. But most importantly, it led to a major step forward for women’s equality in Northern Ireland.
