SPURS WANT £50M BEFORE KYLE WALKS
MANCHESTER CITY have made their move for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker.
Talks have been opened between the two clubs for the 27-year-old (below), for whom the north Londoners will not accept less than £50million.
It is understood Kieran Trippier has signed a new, five-year deal worth £65,000-a-week at the club to become Walker’s successor next season.
Trippier finished last term as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice after Walker’s relationship with the Spurs boss deteriorated.
The 26-year-old former Burnley star has also forced his way into the England squad, alongside Walker.
Spurs still want to add another right-back. Porto’s Ricardo Pereira, 23, is a target, while the club are also admirers of Ajax 25-year-old Joel Veltman.
■MANCHESTER CITY have signed up for the Checkatrade Trophy. They will be one of the Premier League sides to enter an Under-21 team to take on League One and Two clubs.
