Le Pen in EU fraud probe

FAILED French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen is being investigated over an alleged European Parliament funding scam.

It is thought around £4million went to assistants of Le Pen’s far-right National Front, who were not working for MEPs but were engaged in party business in France. Le Pen, 48, is under investigation for breach of trust and will face magistrates in Paris.

She denies any wrongdoing, insisting the case is “politically motivated”.
