Fiona, I have always read with interest your reports regarding the horror stories relating to care homes. I cannot comprehend how this can happen. I have worked in care for over 40 years and am passionate about the support of older people.

I manage a care home in Leicester where we support people with sight loss and dementia. Good care is out there. Staff work very hard for a minimum wage, but we have fun. Yes, at times it is heartbreaking – we constantly battle with funding – but that doesn’t stop us giving a good quality service. There are so many horror stories, let’s get some good ones out there. Fiona, I don’t believe a word Theresa May says any more. She shows each and every day that she has hardly ever rubbed up against real life. She needs to stop sheltering in church on Sundays and get herself out and about in Lidl. Mike, Derby FP And Aldi have got some excellent wines, Mike! I wonder where the PM’s Holy Communion wine comes from?
