Too pricy for Palace

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

CRYSTAL PALACE have abandoned their plans to re-sign Mamadou Sakho on a permanent basis.

Sakho played a key role in Palace’s survival last season after joining on loan from Liverpool in January.

The Eagles were initially keen to make the move permanent but have been put off by Liverpool’s £30million price tag.

Palace spent big in January so new boss Frank de Boer will have a smaller budget this summer.

He is eyeing cheaper than Sakho to bolster his defence, including £10mrated fellow Dutchman Joel Veltman from ex-club Ajax.

Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma is also a loan target for the south Londoners.
