COLLAPSE FEAR FOR BAGHDATIS

-

MARCOS BAGHDATIS collapsed on court and was stretchered off in searing temperatures at the Antalya Open in Turkey.

The Cypriot (above), who reached the 2006 Wimbledon semi-finals, is due to face British wildcard James Ward in the first round on Tuesday.

Baghdatis’ retirement meant his semi-final opponent Yuichi Sugita, 4-1 up in the deciding set, went through to his first first ATP Tour final where he will meet France’s Adrian Mannarino. The Japanese has been drawn against Britain’s Brydan Klein in the first round at Wimbledon.

Aljaz Bedene is up against big-serving Croatian Ivo Karlovic while Cameron Norrie faces 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Katie Boulter, making her debut in the main draw, takes on American Christina McHale.
