John Lloyd: I owe health to love split
FEELING LUCKY John TENNIS pundit John Lloyd says divorce helped him beat prostate cancer.
The former British No1 found out early he had the condition when he had a full medical after moving to Florida following the split.
Lloyd, 62, who parted last year from his second wife Deborah Taylor-Bellman, said: “It was very lucky the way I found out about it.
“Other than a couple of knee replacements, I have basically never been ill a day in my life.
“It could be said that getting divorced saved my life – I would have been in big trouble if I had left it another nine or 12 months.”
The BBC pundit had a successful op in December and is in remission. He is now urging more people “of a certain age” to take tests for the silent killer.
