‘We were too busy playing FIFA to kill’

-

THE terror-accused said to have called themselves the “Three Musketeers” claimed they were too busy playing FIFA video games to plan an atrocity, a court heard.

Naweed Ali, 29, and Khobaib Hussain, 24, both of Birmingham, and Mohibur Rahman, 32, of Stoke, allegedly used messaging app Telegram to plot an attack.

Prosecutor Gareth Patterson QC warned jurors at the Old Bailey not to fall for “red herrings” in their bid to avoid jail – including claims they focused on “innocent pastimes” like playing FIFA. Mr Patterson said: “No doubt every terrorist has at various stages engaged in all sorts of everyday activities or comments.”

The defendants deny terror offences. The trial continues. ACCUSED Naweed Ali ‘plotted with two others’
