‘DAN DESERVED BAN’

ANDY MURRAY has told Dan Evans he has blown his career and deserves a ban after testing positive for cocaine.

The former Davis Cup star (left) revealed last month he failed a drug test at the Barcelona Open in April. At 27, he now faces a two-year ban.

World No.1 Murray, who was critical of Maria Sharapova being handed wildcards after her 15-month doping ban, said: “He has let himself down and all of the people that help him.

“I have spent time with Dan over the last couple of years. He put himself in a position to do well for the last few years of his career but he has blown that now.

“The rules are very clear. He broke those rules, he deserves a suspension.”
