‘Shop worker who enjoyed strangling killed schoolgirl’
A MAN “turned on by strangulation” climbed into bed with a friend’s teenage girlfriend and killed her, a court heard.
James Morton, 24, allegedly strangled Hannah Pearson just hours after they met during a night out with pals.
The schoolgirl, 16, was drunk and “struggling to stand up” when she went to Morton’s family home, it is alleged. Jurors heard the shop worker, whose parents were away, killed Hannah then rang police, claiming she’d died in a sex game gone wrong. But prosecutor Michael Evans QC told Nottingham crown court: “He admitted enjoying the sensation of strangling women during sex. He knew it was dangerous, that’s what turned him on.” Jurors heard police found Hannah, from Marston, Lincs, naked and unresponsive in Morton’s room last July. Morton, of Newark, Notts, denies murder. The trial continues.
