Lucy, 16: I’ve not had one day off in 11yrs of school

DEDICATED Lucy Marshall, 16, has been hailed as “a shining example” after never missing a single day of school.

She has finished her GCSEs with a 100% attendance record since her first day at primary school 11 years ago.

Lucy, from Northern Moor, Manchester, said: “I do get colds and things like that. I just never get poorly . Maybe it’s my immune system. Plus, my mum works at EXAMPLE Lucy Marshall a primary school so I could never pretend I was poorly to get a day off. “I’ve always liked going into school, too. It’s a welcoming and safe place.” Lucy hopes to become a teacher after college and university. Damian Owen, principal at Manchester Health Academy, said: “In 25 years in teaching, she is the first student I have come across who has never taken a day off. She has shown great commitment.”
