It’s arrogant and indeed ridiculous for Owen Smith to suggest he could have got more votes for Labour than Jeremy Corbyn.

Yes, the manifesto was instrumental in helping Labour to win votes, but whose was it? Not his.

I, like many, had doubts about Corbyn, but I began to see the confidence in him.

He was unflappable, spoke plainly and with passion, and not once did he personally insult other politicians. He grew on people at quite a rate.
