Fashion chain Next is hoping a tie-up with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo is the ingredient to help boost flagging sales.
D’Acampo, who won TV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2009, is to open restaurants in two Next stores – in Hull and in the refurbished Manchester Arndale megastore – this October. They will also have prosecco bars.
Next joins a number of retailers adding new departments to try to make stores more of a destination.
It comes after Next announced its first annual fall in profits in March, with high street sales down 2.9%.
