Clarets capture veteran Walters

JON WALTERS is quitting Stoke after seven years to join Burnley for £2million.

The Potters had dismissed as derisory an initial six-figure bid for the 33-year-old. The Ireland striker (above) wants to play more ahead of next year’s World Cup.

His arrival could hasten contract rebel Andre Gray’s exit from Turf Moor, with Everton and West Ham interested. Burnley will today announce the signing of leftback Charlie Taylor from Leeds.
